I'm pleased to report that as of 9:30 pm last night, I am at least 1/3 of the way done with class for the semester! I finished two papers, including a prospectus for my term paper in my Rhetorical Criticism class. I'm sure that one was garbage so I'm looking forward to getting lots of feedback from the instructor. I don't know why but in a lot of my classes I really feel like the people around me know about 140% more than me. Somehow I still manage to do ok, must be pity on the part of the instructors.

I have to say, I have never really found a lot of the classes I take to be terribly challenging. I always have felt like the amount of effort I've had to expend to get an A was embarrassingly low. And it's not because I think I'm any kind of super-genius or anything. Despite my acting the contrary, I feel as if I'm really average intellectually (On the other hand, I think of myself as VERY high on the craftiness scale!). All of which leads me to believe that education is simply not setting a very high bar. Many of you are probably thinking, duh, not exactly a revelation. But I'm talking about college & grad school, not an inner city middle school with no funding. Uh, not really sure how we got here, back to a different topic.

Off to California later this week to visit a client. I'm excited to hit some warm weather. And the friendly neighborhood weatherman says we are supposed to get a dose of spring in our 'hood next week. And I hit spring break after next week's classes. All good signs of the sweet, sweet days of spring and summer ahead. Which means....

We're only about a month away from the greatest holiday in history, Opening Day of the baseball season! Wooohoooo!

Enough for now, I'll check back soon.

Back from the dead

This road weary traveler is back in action. It seems like so long since we visited.
I've posted a couple of pics from the Mexico trip where Q & Krissy had their ceremony.
The place was called Azul Sensatori or something like that and is in Playa Del Carmen. Place has only been open a couple of months and wow it was nice. The top picture is the view from our room, quite spectacular. The weather was a little coolish while we were there, at least for some of the time, which was a little bit of a bummer. We really couldn't do anything in the ocean like snorkel or kayak or any of that stuff. But the beach itself was nice, the resort was cool too. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch the Super Bowl the same again after watching it on the beach literally 10 feet from the waves.
The day after we arrived, we went on a trip to some local Mayan ruins, which was extremely cool. This pic is one of the buildings, it was very interesting to see how advanced the building techniques were from so long ago. And this place had the most beautiful beach and clear blue water, unbelievable. Oh yeah, and LOTS of lizards, everywhere!
After the ruins, we hit a place that was a natural aquarium, which was gigantic and had lots of great snorkeling. I got a pic of me swimming just above this fish that was probably 5 feet long and 3 feet tall, a pretty big one. Haven't gotten the film developed yet, I hope it turned out well.
Otherwise, the trip was great. Unfortunately, all of the huge temperature variation took its toll on me and I am just recovering from the back and forth. I was sick as can be for about four days, finally starting to feel better last night and today. Ugh! Anywho, I suspect you'll all be waiting with baited breath my next update on my super boring classes, yawn...
